Hat's Off...

I had a great time last weekend when I styled (makeup and hair) for a photo shoot for photographer Mark Shaiken.  I help him select experienced models or models that I think have great potential.  Last weekend's model was Kirsten Moore.  She is one spunky little dish! Luckily she loves hats as much as Mark, so we had fun using a turban (I have a thing for turbans) and a cute little black hat, that had an Annie Hall feel to it.  My fave image is the one with the black hat.  Which one do you like?

The makeup used in the above image:  MAC Face &Body in C3, eyes:
MAC pigment in Gold Mode, and soba in the crease. Black track for liner
the lip gloss was custom blended.

A Very Memorable Wedding

Last October, I was lucky enough to be hired by one of the sweetest brides; Erin.
So pretty and so sweet she's the kind of the bride that makes me love my job even more than I already do.!  I do truly love what I do!
Here are some images from Tracy Routh Custer Photography.  She's pretty fabulous as well!
The bridal party got ready at the Hilton President hotel and one my most reliable and talented artist friends helped me out with her large wedding party. Thanks Loria!
I just died over Erin's dress!  Dont you agree? Fab!

Makeup used on Erin:  foundation:  MAC prolongwear in Nc20 and NC30- I like to mix. ;)
my all-time fave blush:  MAC dainty
and on her lips:  MAC subculture lipliner and Laura Mercier gloss in Bellini.
On her eyes I used:  MAC jest, soba, satin taupe and bronze with blacktrack liner.

A Stormy Day..

This past November I had the chance to collaborate with two of my favorite people for a very fun and inspiring day of shooting.  Neal Troester the photographer and one half of the team of Lemon-Lime Photography, developed this concept and Jen Thomas (super-talented hair stylist) and I helped him execute it.  One of the top models in Kansas City Megan Seithel was the star of the day.
Neal found this undisclosed spot that had once been a tornado shelter and that I discovered was not the setting of the Wizard of Oz (LOL, inside joke).  It was a freezing day but Megan is always a trooper and you wouldn't even notice she was one big giant goose bump.
I hope you enjoy the images.

Hair by Jen Thomas owner of  The Last Tangle Salon. Makeup by me.

The makeup look was created using:
MAC face and body foundation in N1,
Eyes: MAC pigment in pink bronze, wedge in the crease and bronze in the corner.
Blacktrack eyeliner
and cheeks MAC Harmony
Lips Boots No. 7 in Melon
with MAC N1 (oldie but goodie)

Seeing Blue

This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite local models; Darci Van Velde.  We collaborated with photographer Mark Shaiken.  This shoot was so much fun and the images turned out fantastic.

Here is a close up of the makeup:
For the eyes I used:  MAC pigments in dark soul (crease)
and from the Wonder Woman Collection: Marine Ultra pigment
on top of an oldie but goodie:  Loreal Hip color rich cream crayon in Intricate
for lips:  MAC stripdown liner with Cream Cup lipstick
for her foundation:  MAC face and body in C3.

I would love to hear your comments!
